I had given up on heading to the gym yesterday (Monday), so when a family member came by last night and offered me a drive to the gym I had two choices. Option 1, stay home. I'd already decided not to go to the gym. Option 2, go to the gym since the opportunity presented itself.
I don't like going to the gym when it is crowded, but I chose to go. I decided to capitalize on the opportunity rather than make an excuse. I'm happy I did because now I have a gym partner.
I don't know about you, but we're often led to believe that an unhealthy person looks a certain way. You know the way I mean. Now even though I know this isn't true, today was a stark reminder of how untrue this sentiment can be. Just because a person looks slim and trim (slimmaz) it is no indication of their actual health.
I promise to not 'hate on' people who look 'slim' at the gym anymore
When you find a fitness tracker to 'borrow' from family, adjust the settings, and you go look in the weight section and see 39.4lbs to meet your goal O_O knowing that when you started it was a 50lbs goal. #Happy! #SmallVictories
What do you do when you have a small cut, no band-aid, no cotton, but you already took your rest day, and the cut isn't so bad? Cushion the area with a wad of tissue and wear socks that will help to hold it in place!
I've found different things that have helped to make my weight loss journey easier. One of those things is to celebrate victories and progress no matter how small.
When I first started at the gym I did 25 minutes on the treadmill and reached 1.18 miles. I felt I was dying! Today two weeks later I did 45 minutes and reached 2.49 miles. I didn't think I was dying.
Today was going to be an easy day at the gym. However, a simple and small yet annoyingly painful wound by the skin covering my Achilles tendon (foot back in Jamaican) has forced me to declare today 'rest day'.
This chronicle does not start from day 1 of my journey. As I said, I started so many times I didn’t think I was going to actually make it anywhere, and I didn’t think I had any authority. This chronicle, however, picks up after I received really bad news from my doctor and after I started my first 2 weeks at the gym.
